Hello,
I am Niccolò from Primo Ventures. Welcome back to my digest of the latest news from the Italian startup ecosystem.
In this issue: Nanophoria, Flyted, and D4RE raised capital. M&A news from Nexi, Colvin, Alira Health, and Yapily. The Digital Transition and the Green Transition funds receive government approval. A new accelerator from CDP.

The Money
  • Nanophoria, a Milan-based biotech startup, raised €3.5m from Sofinnova Partners
  • Flyted, an infrastructure monitoring startup, 🇮🇹raised €1m from CDP Fondo Rilancio.
  • D4RE, a real estate startup, 🇮🇹raised €300k from SRI Group Global Limited.
M&A
  • Nexi acquired German company Orderbird for $140-150m.
  • Colvin 🇮🇹acquired Bloovery💐. LVenture Group, the listed company running the Luiss Enlabs accelerator program where Bloovery graduated recently, announced a 2x return on its investment.
  • Yapily, a UK fintech with an ITA heart, acquired FinAPI, a German open banking platform.
  • Alira Health acquired RedCrow, a crowdfunding platform in the healthcare sector.
Strategic partnerships
  • Sella SGR, an asset management company, 🇮🇹announced the integration of MDOTM’s AI into its asset allocation processes.
New public funds from the Italian government
  • Two new funds that were included in the PNRR (the Italian national recovery plan) have been officially approved: the 🇮🇹digital transition fund (a €300m direct, indirect & co-investment fund), and the 🇮🇹green transition fund (a €250m fund).
A new accelerator from CDP
  • CDP VC, in partnership with Healthware Group and Accelerace, 🇮🇹launched a new accelerator dedicated to digital health startups, VITA. The program has a €6.25m initial budget to support participating startups.
