The Money
ViteSicure, an insuretech startup, 🇮🇹raised €1.75m from a syndicate of angels and corporates.
Kama.sport, a sports tech startup, raised €1.5m for a €21m post-money.
A|Impact 🇮🇹invested €500k in Test1 solution, a startup developing technologies for cleaning the environment from pollutants.
I usually do not talk about crowdfunding rounds, but we have been talking about the Italian leadership in pokè startups and it seems the trend is growing strong: Ami Pokè, another player in the field, raised €1.3m on Mamacrowd, a crowdfunding platform.
Corporate VC
Italgas, an Italian gas distribution company, invested USD$15m in Picarro, a US-based monitoring solution for gas infrastructure.
Edison 🇮🇹announced an investment in Condeo, a condominium management startup.
Mediobanca Private Banking launched a VC fund focused on investing in American startups and funds.
M&A
Poste Italiane announced the acquisition of LIS Holding for €700m, to expand its payment offering.
Healthware Group acquired Argon Global Healthcare network
Reload SpA 🇮🇹acquired Intermatica SpA, a telecommunication company.
Women CTOs in Europe
Sifted compiled a list of European women CTOs: of the 155 women on the list, only two are from Italy and working in Italian startups: Pamela Gotti and Chiara Petrioli. Anybody else?! 🤔
FT 1000
The Financial Times published its ranking of the 1000 fastest-growing European companies. Italy has only one company in the top ten (Winelivery #9) but it is the most represented country (235 entries!).
Incubators and Accelerators in Italy
Ilaria Cavalleri published e quick fact sheet from the Social Innovation Monitor 2021 regarding Italian incubators and accelerators.
Driverless vehicles
Estrima, the maker of Birò, a tiny 2-seats / 4-wheels electric vehicle, 🇮🇹announced it is teaming up with Imperium Drive to experiment with a driverless car service in Milton Keynes (UK), based on its cars.
