Hello,

This is Niccolò from Primo Ventures. Every week I publish what’s going on in the Italian startup ecosystem.

The first week of January was very quiet (as expected) - not much to report here. 🥱

For those of you getting back to the office today (like me), welcome back! Hope you had a good break. Please take a look at last week’s issue in case you missed it.

Back to the news:

The Money

  • Nyp Techfin, a fintech startup, 🇮🇹raised an undisclosed amount from Banca Valsabbina.

M&A

  • Satispay 🇮🇹acquired a controlling stake in Onyon, a restaurant payments startup, for an undisclosed amount.

  • Unicredit 🇮🇹offered €20m to acquire Credimi.

Reading this week

  • An 🇮🇹analysis based on Crunchbase data of the startups created in 2022 (vs 2021), by sector.

  • The 50 Italian startups that are participating at CES.

  • Young Platform launched its service in France after it secured an operating license from the French financial markets authority.

Fundraising Tracker

  • No rounds announced, no tracker! Hopefully next week we’ll launch the 2023 edition 🤞🏻

Ending Notes

The newsletter runs on a brand new platform, but Giacomo Mollo and I will continue commenting on the latest news weekly: subscribe to our podcast on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcast, and other platforms to get additional insights on what is happening in the Italian ecosystem.

Have a great week,

N.
